I'm just a WYSIWYG kind of guy … who wears his heart on his sleeve.

cogsinwallWell, it’s been a long time coming, my likes in Music and poetry that is. This section has been simmering away for months, and I feel like starting with a bit of poetry. I like stuff that stirs my soul, makes me angry or gives me a good laugh … stuff that makes me think and stuff that allows me to look back on past times…sometimes with regrets and other times with happy memories.

Some poets deliver these feelings in everything they write and say. People such as the  charismatic MAYA ANGELOU,  (born Marguerite Annie Johnson; April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014) now that lady wrote stuff that REALLY stirs the soul. One of my favourite poems by Maya Angelou and one which really does stir my soul is .. ‘Still I Rise’ …  and what better than to hear it spoken by the great woman herself ( Praise be to You Tube !!)  …. I’ve put the Youtube link to the poem in because it’s quite a long one and as they say in the Blogosphere … Clarity and brevity are key …enjoy the spoken poem and feel free to access others on the Youtube page from the great woman herself …

 Follow this link and bask in her strength and glory……

….AND… I do sincerely recommend you read her seven autobiographies which document Maya’s life in extraordinary detail;

Gather Together in My Name (1974): 1944–48
Singin’ and Swingin’ and Gettin’ Merry Like Christmas (1976): 1949–55
The Heart of a Woman (1981): 1957–62
All God’s Children Need Traveling Shoes (1986): 1962–65
A Song Flung Up to Heaven (2002): 1965–68
Mom & Me & Mom (2013)

What a woman…THE WORLD IS A MUCH DARKER PLACE WITHOUT YOUR GUIDING LIGHT
